Christmas '09

Christmas this year was so much fun! Kylie was way more interested in opening presents then we thought she would be! Watching her discover what was inside was even more fun! She was spoiled with so much love and attention from her grandparents, aunts and uncles. She got to visit with extended family and meet her second cousins. She is the only girl but she held her own! Her grandparents got her a very fun playhouse that she can climb all over! And next year, she will have a cousin to join the fun! Aunt Jaime and Uncle Nick are expecting a baby in June! The time spent with family was priceless. We wish everyone a very Happy New Year!

Pre-Christmas fun!

We have been so busy with fun Christmas stuff that I haven't had time to post. Here are a couple of pictures from Kylie visiting with her friends. She got to play with Maddie and "help" make cookies. She wasn't into the cookie making but LOVED watching Maddie and Reese. She also got to see her friend Elyse to play make a Christmas tree! Elyse looked amazingly well after just one week of having her pacemaker put in. What a little miracle she is! Thank you Maddie and Lysee for sharing your toys with Kylie! We hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas!

Southern Lights and Snowman

My parents came down last weekend to stay with Kylie so Jeff and I could go do some Christmas shopping. Kylie enjoyed her time with her grandparents! To end the weekend we went to Southern Lights at the Kentucky Horse park. Kylie seemed intrigued by the lights. But, the highlight for her was the petting zoo. She LOVED the animals! She got to feed and touch several animals. She belly laughed at a kangaroo that was jumping around! She also seemed to enjoy the model trains. What a fun night! I also snapped a couple of shots of Kylie with a snowman decoration we have. She is so funny to watch her "play" with this snowman that is just her size. What a magical time of year!

Thanksgiving

We hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving as much as we did. Kylie was spoiled rotten with attention (and some new toys!) this weekend! We enjoyed lots of good family time and a trip to Cincinnati Zoo's festival of Lights. It's so hard to beleive that this time last year Kylie was only 7 weeks old. This Thanksgiving she was running around the house, climbing up her new slide and just having a blast with her grandparents, aunts and uncles. What a great Thanksgiving!

Keeping busy!

The weeks seem to be flying by! Not sure if it's becasue I am busy at work or becasue when I get home from work I am even busier keeping up with 13-month old Kylie! She wants to run and climb on everything and every where! Last weekend my parents and Jill came down to celebrate my birthday. It was a great visit and a beautiful day outside. I posted some pics of Kylie on our walk. She is also into building with her blocks right now. She can stack a 4-5 high lego-block tower. And of course she is still into Bailey, her very best friend. Can't believe Thanksgiving is right around corner.

Our ladybug!

Our little ladybug was too cute! She LOVED her costume! We took her down to "Trick or Treat on Main" in Nicholasville on Friday night and then "Trick or Trick on Main" in Wilmore on Saturday. She enjoyed both nights! We let her have her first sucker and she loves them! Hard to believe last year on Halloween she was 3 weeks old and slept through trick or treat!

Fall Break

I had a week off school last week for Fall Break and Jeff took off a few days so we enjoyed some great family time. We took Kylie hiking at Raven Run and she loved it! Most of the week the weather was cold and rainy so we were happy to be lazy and just let Kylie play with all her new birthday toys! She had her one year check-up and the doc said she was doing great! She weighed 18 # and 10 oz and was 29 1/4 inches long! On Sunday we took advantage of the sun coming out and went to Boyd's Orchard. Kylie loved every part of the day! From the pumpkins to the animals to the play tunnels and slides. It was so fun to watch her experience the Fall Fun!

Our birthday princess!

We celebrated Kylie Hope's first birthday on Saturday! We had such a wonderful time celebrating our baby's first birthday. She was spoiled rotten with love, attention and toys (of course!). Thanks to everyone for the love and support you have given this little miracle of ours this past year. We have enjoyed every minute of the journey and look forward to the next chapter. Happy 1st Birthday Kylie Hope!

Enjoy a few pictures of her big day!

Our independent girl

Eleven months is BUSY! Our girl has decided that she is "big" and likes to try to do things all by herself. The other night I was feeding her greenbeans and potatoes and she decided she wanted to do it. So, after much concentration she got some potatoes on her spoon and it reached her mouth. After she saw she could do it, she dropped the spoon and went back to her fingers! We had the thermometer sitting out yesterday. She found it and tried to scan it across her forehead. It was so funny! We still like to hold her hand when she is walking outside b/c of the concrete. But, she wants no part of us "helping" her! I have no idea where she gets her independence from....ha! We were shopping the other day and saw balloons and went wild over them. Of course her daddy had to buy her a couple. She loved them! Have I mentioned yet what a little monkey she is? She will try to climb anything. The other day she climbed into her toy basket. The fun continues. We love this age!

Fun with Friends

Friday night we went to the Brown's house and enjoyed good food and great company. The girls played so nice with each other! It was such a relaxing evening. Can't wait to do it again. Saturday our friends Josh and Katie Beth were in town from outside of Nashville. We met up with them at the Children's Museum and had a fantastic time. We got to meet their prcious little girl Aubree and see how big Hayden had gotten. We had a great day! All the kids were so good! What a fun weekend.

First walking shoes!

We had such a great weekend! Saturday we relaxed at home and Sunday my family (minus Jill) came down. The boys went to golf while my Mom, Jaime and I took Kylie to Stride Rite to get her first pair of "walking" shoes! I still can't believe she is walking! We enjoyed shopping and Kylie was so good! We all met back and enjoyed a dinner together and nightly entertainment provided by Kylie. Monday we went to breakfast before everyone headed home. Thanks everyone for coming down!

Walking and eating!

It seems like overnight, literally, Kylie decided that crawling was overrated and it was just time to walk. Up until Saturday morning she was still crawling with some steps here and there. Not anymore. We chased our walking baby all weekend long! I tried to post a video but it would not upload. The other big news of the week is how much she seems to be enjoying her "real" food. Enjoying, meaning playing with it! She is eating it too, but I think she is just as happy to play with it as she is to eat it! I am just amazed how fast they can change overnight. Amazing little miracles, aren't they? Here are a few pics of her enjoying her peaches.

Two of my favorite things...

Kylie's two favorite things right now are Bailey and her bunny. Bailey is and has been her "best friend" for quite some time. But the bunny is a new thing. This weekend she carried her bunny around quite a bit. It was fun to watch her try to play with her other toys while still holding on to bunny's ears. She is really into her play right now. She loves to put things in buckets or boxes and push things around. And have I mentioned yet that she is taking some steps? This weekend she was all over trying out her new found mode of transportation. She is very proud of herself! Enjoy a few new pics of our girl.
